The goal of this book is to determine whether, from a grammatical perspective, ASL syntax, particularly in regard to question formation, is like that of natural spoken languages. The theoretical framework I employ is Van Valin & LaPolla's (1997) Role and Reference Grammar (RRG), with its flexibility, RRG seems ideal for the medium and multi-dimensionality of signed languages. An RRG analysis of verb classes in ASL illuminates an obscure feature of the language, one which makes it typologically unique: indexing verbs are head-marking, while plain verbs are neither head- nor dependent-marking. With fixed focus, ASL relies on a combination of word order movement and syntactic focus constructions to achieve a range of focus possibilities, among these constructions are topicalization, pseudoclefts, and doubling. Of particular interest in signed languages are covert questions, those that rely solely on the nonmanual marking to indicate the scope of the wh-question. Polar questions, for example, are marked with a different particle (in this case, facial expression) than content questions and are not, therefore, typologically unusual.
What impact does using a visual or signed language have on cognitive processes? This very question is investigated through a targeted research project evaluating the relationship between mental rotation, math, and language processes in deaf individuals who use sign language (ASL) to communicate. Typically, mental rotation abilities map onto higher order mathematical ability. However, this does not appear to be the case for native signers. Instead, mental rotation is utilized in language processes and therefor appears to play a very different role in the brains of those that communicate using a visual language. Given that mathematical concepts are difficult to teach yet are an important variable in future success, this study discusses the meaning and utility of these findings with respect to real world applications and potential teaching models that may be helpful for a wide variety of student populations.
ASL is a formally negotiated agreement between parties involve in service providing and service receiving that records the common understanding about services, priorities, responsibilities, guarantees and so on. In public sector, quality must be associated with products that can satisfy the public who are the customer for the government agencies. In that case, the government should put more afford in delivering service in achieving the customers' satisfaction. General aim of this research is to identify and establish effective strategies and framework in developing ASL inconsonance with the business needs. In order to do that, officers involved in government sector facilities management field interviewed and sent questionnaires to be given opinion. Findings of this research are fitting the important elements under each part and developed a framework of facilities management ASL for local authority. This research highlights the effective ways to establish the contents of ASL in order to achieve quality in service management. The proposed framework explicitly utilizes the available information to identify the producers and protocols in ASL.

Effective management of business information is critically important for modern organizations. The Business Information Systems Library (BiSL) is a generic framework which provides an effective solution for business information management. BiSL is a public domain standard which is consistent with ITIL and ASL. This management guide is an easy to use guide about the how and why of the Framework BiSL, Business Information Service Library, that is governed by the ASL BiSL Foundation. It describes the best way to manage and execute business information management in day-to-day practice, and how BiSL can be of use with this. To illustrate the implementation of BiSL, a separate case history is being evolved throughout the text. Supports EXIN BiSL Exams
